George Sewell, a Royal Air Force and British Merchant Navy veteran, was an actor who, ten years after his 1959 debut, which he made at the age of 35, acted out the role of Colonel Alec Freeman in Gerry Anderson's very first live-action series programme, UFO: The Series. He died of cancer in 2007, almost five full months before he would have reached the age of 83.
